Stubborn Weight Loss Due to Food Sensitivities
Dr. Andrea Maxim, ND
What is the number one area on your body that you want to improve?
Most likely it’s that spare tire around your midsection. That stubborn belly fat that no matter how many crunches you do, it’s not getting better.

If there was ever a call for “digestive health,” this is it!
Yes, it’s true. Your gut is considered your “second brain.” Thus, gut-brain connection.
There is no denying it anymore.

Let’s finally put an end to the debate of raw food vs. cooked food.
Of course, in the grand scheme of a well-balanced, nutrient-dense, varied, whole foods diet, the cooked food vs. raw food debate isn’t that critical for most people.
We cannot even start to heal the gut without removing the stressors that are harming the digestive tract. These include underlying infections (yeast, bacteria or parasites), stress, environmental toxins and most importantly food sensitivities. These must be removed immedately before the next phase can start.
If you are suffering from digestive upset, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea or constipation you may have a food sensitivity. This is different from a Food Allergy because a Food Sensitivity is a delayed reaction to food particles we consume and can develop later on in life.
The Globe and Mail released an article (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/health/new-health/health-news/tests-for-food-allergies-sensitivities-a-waste-of-money-doctor-says/article2376863/) stating that food sensitivity tests, much like the ones we do at my Naturopathic Clinics, are a “waste of money”.
If you suffer from digestive upset and you’re unsure why? You are not alone. “More than 20 million Canadians suffer from digestive disorders every year” says the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation (http://www.cdhf.ca/digestive-disorders/statistics.shtml).
