Our clinics are pleased to now offer both phone and video consults to patients!
We will use all reasonable means to protect the security and confidentiality of information sent and received in this video appointment. However, because of the risks outlined below inherent to all electronic communications, the security and confidentiality of electronic communications cannot be guaranteed.
Before you avail of our telemedicine services, please be aware of the following:
- Video Consults
While the use of electronic communications to discuss sensitive information can increase the risk of inadvertent disclosure of such information to 3rd parties, we assure you that the platform we use – Doxy.Me – is peer-to-peer, so no information (audio or video) is being recorded or remains on the servers, and therefore cannot be stolen by a 3rd party. The AWS servers used by Doxy.Me are SOC 2 certified, abide by FIPS 140-2 standards, and are maintained in compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
If we are conducting your appointment over video, the secured platform we use is Doxy.Me. FB Messenger, Zoom or Skype cannot be used as the line is not secure and confidential.
- Phone Consults
If we are using the phone, ensure when we call you that you’re in a safe, non-public space, free of distraction and your computer is accessible to you, just in case we need to share files.
