Knowing Your Limitations

The first part of my ride started like any other. Small hills here and there but mostly flat road. We went for a nice 50km flat ride yesterday unscathed so today we decided to challenge ourselves with an 80km ride. Now this 80km ride includes a 500m climb that takes about 8km to complete then it’s all flat and downhill from there.

Waistline Predicts Teen Health

Measuring waist-to-height ratio may predict risk factors for heart disease in teen study group. In this study, obese 14- to 15-year olds were observed and found that those teens with a larger waist-to-height ratio had a higher total cholesterol levels, higher blood pressures and higher overall cardiometabolic risk.

Poor Sleep increases Consumed Calories

A study performed at the Mayo Clinic found that healthy individuals that lost out on 1 hour 20 minutes of sleep, on average, were consuming almost 550 extra calories to healthy individuals maintaining good sleep habits.

Stick it to Stress

Almost all of my patients, including myself, could use some stress management support. Now when it comes to hormone balancing, we often do not understand why it is so important to balance cortisol first or along with the other hormones. Hormone Balance 101

Male or Female we have three major organ systems that need to function appropriately in order to achieve hormone balance. These organ systems are the ADRENAL GLANDS, the THYROID and the OVARIES (Testes for men). Now the diagram you see in the video above shows all three organ systems depending on each other for support equally.

Estrogen Dominance Weight Gain

Every man, woman and child are overexposed to man made, also known as “xenoestrogens” on a daily basis. 7 Day Detox: Day 7

With the shakes completed, I decided to introduce foods slowly. For the rest of you following along, if you want to see it out until the last possible minute of Day 7 keep going!! You’re doing awesome! The morning was still the usual for the week, steamed broccoli and beans and one black coffee. Doing a Health Fair all day I barely had time to take a break and eat.
